LET HIM IN.
I once heard a story of a man that was being oppressed by evil spirits every night. He prayed every day, asking God to come into his home, but the thing here was, when he prays he tells God, “Lord come to my living room, this is where I encountered the last demon”. And later that night he got a beating from the same demon but this time, in his kitchen, and then he prayed again “Lord, I told you to come to my home, my living room, but how come there was a demon in my kitchen, please come to my kitchen”. And that night they almost killed him in his bathroom. And he asked God, God what is happening? And God said to him “I only come to where I Am invited, you called me to your living room, and I stayed there all night, and then I heard you say I should come to the kitchen and I was there, and no demon could enter. My child, give me more space and I will take charge”. And that night he prayed, Lord take over my entire house, environment and neighbourhood, and that was the end of the frequent attacks on him.
Dear Child of God, what's the size of space you have given God in your heart? In your Life, how much is God occupying? Because my Saviour is demanding a hundred percent. You know there are things you do that God is against and He keeps giving you nudges to hand it over but you've said “I no dey give you this one”. And yet you wonder how the devil still torments you even when you call the name of Jesus. In fact it's like the name of Jesus has no power in your lips; this is because the Jesus Himself has no power over your life and affairs.
Your serving God must come to a point where He has the right to intrude in your activities, your hobbies. For in this Christian race the life we are living is bought already (2 corth 5:15). For some of us our prayer life is on until it's exams period. Then we take a break, and the only prayer we pray is in the exam hall just before the instructor says “start”; I wonder if it's a prayer of intimacy we pray at that point.
Some of us, it's an object, item, ambition, and God is saying give me a chance let me make you!
God will not settle for less, it's all of you or nothing. Let Him in.
Father, help me that I don't keep anything away from you in this journey of life.
